I’ve been crocheting for over 15 years (that’s half my life!) but due to many situations, I always felt that whenever I crocheted it had to be for a reason whether it be to sell or to share on my blog, eventually I realized that I wasn’t crocheting for myself but for others and it became a burden to crochet. But this year, I decided to reclaim my love for crochet by crocheting for myself and doing projects I want to do.
Since I’ve started implementing these two rules my love for crochet has returned and now I get excited about my projects! I wanted to take a lot back and share with you everything that I’ve crocheted this year so far along with some more background information on these projects.
Since getting my Kindle last Summer I’ve been wanting to crochet it a cute cozy. One night whilst I was reading (on said Kindle) I envisioned a 3D-style Kindle cozy with a miniature book, tea cup, and tea bag attached to the cover. I wanted this to look like a breakfast tray table and I think I did a decent job. I have many more ideas for 3D-style trays but I’m not sure how many more Kindle cozies I can stand making for myself. I already have quite a collection! 😆
After I made my first Kindle cozy I couldn’t help myself and made a pink panda cozy! I used a fuzzy pink and white yarn to make this bear extra cuddly! This also doubles as a bag as I attached a black strap to the sides. I added a blue bowtie because I felt like it needed some details and I think this color blue complements the pink and white combination really well.
If you’re a K-pop fan then you may recognize that this looks an awful lot like A-pink’s pink panda mascot which I didn’t intentionally plan on doing but I kind of love it! 😂
In this video, I shared a variety of my handmade creations that I made as gifts. The Kuromi card I made for my younger sister’s 24th birthday, she’s a huge Kuromi fan! I also crocheted her a flower bandana a while back but don’t remember ever mentioning it. However, I loved the way it came out! I want to make more bandanas in different patterns this year.
This was the first quick short-form crochet tutorial I posted on TikTok. At the time, ribbons and bows were a huge trend so I thought I would share a quick video on how to make a ribbon out of chains. To this date, this video is my most popular video on TikTok! 🎀
One of my favorite projects I’ve made this year (so far) is this piano bench cover. This piano bench used to be my “desk chair" at my old desk. When I upgraded to a new desk, I was finally able to move this bench under my keyboard where it now lives happily! However, I wasn’t happy with how beige it looked so I gave it a girly makeover!
I freestyle the cushion cover by individually crocheting each strip of either pink and purple or pink and white. I wanted a cushion look so to create the puff effect I had to sew the strips together separately. This took a lot of extra work but I’m very pleased with the finished results! I also attached some pink ribbons from my previous video to make it look extra coquette.
I made a quick version of my butter slice crochet pattern. This was a fun crochet pattern that I posted years ago! I may have even forgotten that I made a regular YouTube crochet tutorial for it 😅 but I’m glad that there is now a sped-up version of this crochet pattern.
This is my third (for those keeping count) Kindle cozy! I forget what inspired this design but I remember one night when I was reading on my Kindle and thinking Wow, I use my Kindle so much I wonder if it ever gets tired? Maybe I should make a bed for my Kindle to sleep in when it’s not being used so I did! I loved how this little bed turned out. It actually reminds me more of a sleeping bag when it’s not being used 😆 The little pink teddy bear was the cherry on top!
This cherry blossom/sakura coaster was my first YouTube video back after my year-long hiatus. Again, I had this crochet pattern available on my blog for free for years but I thought I would make a video version because people seem to be more visual learners nowadays.
If you haven’t caught on yet, I’m slowly transitioning my crochet patterns into videos for my YouTube channel. I’m starting with simpler patterns until I feel comfortable in front of the camera and find a setup that I like to make longer videos. For some reason, even though I just record my hands my anxiety still shows (at least to me) as I make many amateur mistakes when I’m crocheting, which frustrates me when I’m editing! 😂
Earlier this year, when I was cleaning out my old desk to make room for my new desk this small pancake appeared! I’m not sure why I made this but it was a fun surprise to come across. I kept it on my desk because I thought it was a cute decoration but the more I looked at it the more I realized it looked lonely (what is it with me anthropomorphizing all my items?) so I crocheted it a cooking pan!
This video was a fun project to record and loved how it turned out! After making this video I feel like creating more food-themed crochet projects just so I can use this oven more! 😂
I’ve been a fan of the Korean girl group, NewJeans since they debuted so when I found out they were releasing a lightstick of a bunny I knew I had to crochet a lightstick keychain! I’ve crocheted multiple K-pop lightstick keychains but haven’t made one in a while but I was excited to make this one. I’m happy with how it came out and even filmed myself making it for you all to see! I’m not sure if people enjoy these ‘crochet with me’ videos but it’s easier for me to record as I don’t have to prepare as much! 😆
My latest YouTube video is also my most recent crochet project that I’ve shared online. I make a bread loaf AirPods cozy and decorate it to look like those Nutella and banana bear bread slices.

Your Kindle cosies are just too cute!!
I tried learning to crochet back in lockdown and it didn't go well, I am not made for that apparently. Although, I can knit, so I can't work out why the skills don't transfer, hahaha.
The Kindle cozy’s are adorable! I started crocheting back in December of last year and I love making little gifts for my friends and family
