May went by too fast! I surprisingly did a lot more than I intended to. We started the month by celebrating an early Mother’s Day because my mom was going to spend 2 weeks in Mexico and miss the actual Mother’s Day (in the US). This month was also my older sister’s birthday and went out to celebrate her, I spent a lot of time with family this month. May was also a very creative month for me! I worked on project after project (this bled into June) but I’m not complaining as I welcome all this creative energy! haha
To stay updated on all my whereabouts make sure you’re following me on Instagram, TikTok, and Threads for updates on everything I am doing. Also, subscribe to my YouTube channel if you enjoy watching my videos.
This was a Sanrio-filled month for me. I was lucky enough to find a Hello Kitty and Friends shirt and sticker book for $2 each! Definitely the best finds of the month and possibly the year so far! I also crochet these Sanrio character pouches, I made a few as gifts and kept the Hello Kitty pouch for myself.
Lastly, I painted a Hello Kitty brush holder that I’ve had for years. It was originally mirrored which I hated so I finally decided to paint it as I had all the colors I needed for this project. I loved how it turned out even though this project took longer than expected because I had to paint multiple coats and wait for them to dry but it was worth it!
I also posted my second crochet vlog in May. I’ve been really enjoying recording vlogs as I don’t have to film an entire project and just share snippets of what I’m currently making and the before and after. In this video, I also shared a new cover photo using a different method from my previous videos and I’m super proud of my new video cover photos!
Earlier this month, I had a lunch date with my sisters. We went to a sushi restaurant and I had my favorite sweet potato tempura! After lunch, we went to a used bookstore, all the books that I wanted were only available in hardcovers so I didn’t end up getting anything as I’m currently in the process of getting rid of a bunch of my hardcover books. Are you a fan of hardcovers? I prefer paperbacks.
And I posted another vlog! This time a craft vlog. In this video, I painted a Hello Kitty brush holder, shared the behind-the-scenes process of the gifts I made for my older sister, made some motivational cards, and added some details to a Ferris wheel photo holder. I enjoyed filming these clips. I can see myself posting more craft vlogs in the future because I’m not always crocheting but I’m always doing something creative so I might as well share what I’m doing. haha
I’ve noticed that 2024 has been such a creative year for me. I have been making so many new things and giving old things new life. It’s been very therapeutic. When I first started my YouTube channel I didn’t know what the niche would be, I thought maybe a crochet channel but it’s turning out to be a creative hobby channel and I’m here for it!

We celebrated my older sister’s birthday in mid-May. We went into the city and ate at a Mexican restaurant that she’d been wanting to go to. Afterward, we went to the mall because it was nearby. There was a LUSH at this mall, I feel like I haven’t seen a LUSH in a minute. They had the most adorable rainbow cow bath bomb! I didn’t buy one though because I don’t have a bathtub but I took pictures to store in the vault that is my photo album.
I gifted my older sister some card decks for her YouTube channel and made her a few things such as a crocheted flower vase, a pompom Pikachu, and a trash panda birthday card, it even slides up! haha
A few days later, we had a spontaneous happy sister fun time at my older sister’s house. We ate Korean corndogs and vegetable pancakes, watched The Marvels, and I got a personal tarot reading. It was very healing.
Lastly, I wanted to mention the release of Kodomo Doki Doki Book: Touch Reminiscence. I reviewed this book last month, you can read the book review here. This book was just released a few days ago so I wanted to share this as I want to support the author as this is their debut novel.
Because they were born as Florals (persons with flowers growing from the skin), a group of friends ages eight through seventeen are sent away from their familiar orphanage to a decrepit Island, on which they are expected to live as if the entirety of it is an ordinary home of wall and ceiling.
The Island isn't the only decrepit thing though, as the group's friendship is crumbling in the wake of a breaking promise meant to hold back their darkest fears and a secret trauma, kept only between two- but before they can even begin to focus on the fixing of their friendship, strange things occur on the Island, and they are witness to things they aren't sure they should believe in, until they must ask themselves if they can fix their breaking promise, because without it, their flowered hearts are at risk of breaking next.
Overall, this month was filled with a lot of creative projects and spending time with family. I tend to be a hermit crab and keep to myself but it’s nice to go out and spend quality time with loved ones. How was your May?
